The Civil Engineering Division at Chatwin includes engineers, technologists and planners and biologists.

Their combined experience and talents deliver superior solutions to infrastructure development, and sustainable solutions for our sensitive BC environment.

Our infrastructure project partners include Municipal, Government, First Nations communities and Private Developers. We have worked with the major cities and remote communities, both inland and on the coast. Our innovative engineering teams and planners continually strive for design improvements that lessen the foot print of development and exceed the goals of sustainability.

We are specialists in our local wetlands, the challenging terrain and our steep slope areas. We provide services for expanding and retrofitting existing sewer systems, as well as developing new sewage treatment systems and ocean outfalls in highly sensitive urban and marine areas. Our teams develop land use strategies for subdivision developments and highway construction. And we successfully assist our clients to navigate the regulatory approval process and oversee the projects through to successful completion.

We are very proud of the solutions we have developed to mitigate environmental impacts and enhance the environmental amenities of Vancouver Island’s transportation infrastructure. Our approach has been successfully applied to billion dollar freeway projects, arterial intersection design, airport improvement design, railway and multi-modal facilities.

We are also proud of the work we have done with our First Nations clients. After 25 years of working with our local Bands, our people have developed a broad understanding of their culture, history and future vision. Our experienced team is pleased to be able to enhance their infrastructure projects with additional services including: economic development, funding approvals, treaty assistance, physical development planning, and infrastructure planning and development.
